En wat vinden jullie ervan?

The Bellamy Brothers hun grootste hit was Let Your Love Flow in 1976, tot op de dag van vandaag maken de broers nog steeds muziek en komen ze zelfs nog een keer naar Nederland.

Door de EK hebben wij als team besloten dat aanstaande zaterdag niet een geschikt moment zou zijn voor deze fantastische band. Dit omdat toch wel bij de meeste mensen de aandacht uit zou gaan naar de wedstrijd. Hierdoor cancelen wij de live uitzending in het rebellenhonk.

Maar nodigen wij wel iedereen uit om lekker naar ons komen te luisteren op de door u gekozen plek (radio, internet, tv), want in plaats van live artiesten gaan we iets anders bijzonders doen. Iets wat de niet EK kijkers ook zeker leuk zullen gaan vinden

De band Mississippi Moonshine is voortgekomen uit

De band Mississippi Moonshine is voortgekomen uit de groep Clear Horizon, waarmee we in 2023 onder meer op EWOB (European World of Bluegrass) speelden. In dat najaar besloten vijf leden verder te gaan onder de naam Mississippi Moonshine.

Wat de muziek van Mississippi Moonshine bijzonder maakt, is de samenzang van onze twee zangeressen, Leoniek Mulder en Yvonne Limmen. Deze twee front-vrouwen voegen een speciaal element toe aan ons repertoire, dat een mix is van vrolijke bluegrass en – soms wat minder vrolijke – country/americana.

Naast Yvonne en Leoniek bestaat de band uit Joost Goosen (mandoline/gitaar), Tim van Malssen (bas) en Maurits de Graaf (banjo/gitaar). We brengen zowel snelle als rustige liedjes, altijd op akoestische instrumenten en met een flinke dosis speelplezier. Tijdens de refreinen zingen we volgens traditie allemaal meerstemmig mee, waardoor het bluegrassgevoel in alle liedjes is terug te horen.

Hoewel we allemaal verschillende muzikale achtergronden en -geschiedenis hebben, vormen we samen een hechte groep die vooral geniet van het maken van muziek.

We zien er er naar uit om op de Countryland Sessions te spelen!
